This keeps me from using it all day (Well, this and a Calendar would make me
switch from Evolution to Geary)

We've received some requests for this -- let's bump this up and see if we can
do this in 0.3.

Please, if you implement this, plan for multiple signatures (to be chosen at
compose time) from the beginning.

* **File** 0001-Added-simple-loading-of-signature.html-and-template.patch added
I understand that this is not trivial if you do it right:
It means allowing to add multiple signatures in the settings, building an html
signature editor, ... and so this has to wait for 0.5.
Because this is a must-have-feature for me, I coded a simple quick & dirty
solution for this myself. I added a bit of code to composer-window.vala which
will load a signature from ~/.local/share/geary/signature.html and a email
template from ~/.local/share/geary/template.html if these files exist.
Patch is attached for those who want to use it until a real solution will be
available on 0.5.

Thanks Joey! Obviously this isn't sufficient for us to take now, but as you
said, people out there might want to try it for their own needs.

Why not use the ~/.signature file?

That's ... not a bad idea!
I wonder if we're going to want to allow HTML formatting in a signature,
however. That may require a separate file. (.signature.html?)

That sounds reasonable to me.

Hi,
i just wanted to add that usually email clients may allow to specify a
different signature _per account_ (i, for example, have my private mail
account and work mail account in Evolution).
How about ~/.signature is used as default value in the geary signature editor
but the signature is stored in ~/.local/share/geary//signature[.html]
?
Cheers,
Sebastian
